Aetna’s Voluntary Minimum Wage Hike “Sparks New Conversations”

A policy decision by Aetna is receiving a lot of public attention, including an article in The New Yorker, and dovetails with what’s become a bipartisan refrain and one that could continue to echo into the next election cycle in ways few would have predicted only a few months ago. The issue is income inequality, and the policy move by Aetna was to raise the minimum sage of its U.S. hourly workers to $16.00 an hour, starting in April. The company says that’s  an average increase of 11 percent.
