Ahead Of Net Neutrality Vote, FCC Commissioner Calls For More Transparency

Despite arguments that publicly releasing proposed rule language as the FCC considers it ahead of a vote would be a “logistical nightmare,” Commissioner Michael O’Rielly called the current practice a “barrier to a fulsome exchange.” Making public proposed rule language would force the FCC to address specific concerns with the document in the three weeks ahead of a vote, which would be a challenge for the agency, detractors say. O’Rielly countered: “I am confident that our talented lawyers at the agency can handle it.”
