Posner Chastises Judge In Sex Bias Case

Judge Richard Posner has removed U.S. District Judge Milton Shadur from a sex-bias case, citing his “abruptness and irregularity” and the “unmistakable (and to us incomprehensible) tone of derision that pervades his opinion.” Posner did not cite the judge by name in the opinion, but Shadur handled the case in trial court, and this is not the first time the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has booted Shadur from a case. More recently Shadur removed himself from a case filed by Michael Jordan after the NBA legend said the judge had “demeaned and disparaged” him.
