Arizona Files $3B Suit Against GM Over Defective Vehicles

Arizona has filed a lawsuit against GM, claiming that a succession of vehicle defects and delayed recalls over a period of years have defrauded the state’s consumers. The lawsuit says GM misled customers through its advertising, website and public statements, and seeks $3 billion in damages. The state’s attorney general specifically named GM executives as being complicit in the alleged misdeeds. The suit represents a break from a group of 48 state attorneys general who have pursued a joint investigation into GM.
