Another Law Firm Drops Obama Lawsuit

Attorney Bill Burck with Quinn Emanuel followed the lead of Baker Hostetler’s David Rivkin and backed out of House Speaker John Boehner’s proposed lawsuit alleging President Barack Obama exceeded his Constitutional powers. Now, The Hill reports, House leaders are considering having lawyers already working for the House take up the suit, which has yet to be filed. “The litigation remains on track, but we are examining the possibility of forgoing outside counsel and handling the litigation directly through the House, rather than through law firms that are susceptible to political pressure from wealthy, Democratic-leaning clients,” a Boehner spokesman told The Hill.
