Women Lawyers Face Daily Discrimination

A collection of experiences shared by Above the Law readers shows the many ways that female lawyers are still facing an uphill battle in the workplace. From being repeatedly mistaken for the court reporter, being denied a continuance while on maternity leave, or being told “women lawyers are hard to deal with,” the stories are a snapshot of the sexist attitudes that female lawyers still need to deal with. . “No wonder so many women feel like they aren’t respected as attorneys,” Staci Zaretsky with ATL writes. “It’s because they aren’t.”
