Lawyer For Hacked Celebs Threatens Google With $100M Suit

Renowned Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer threatened Google with legal action if the tech firm didn’t erase nude photographs of celebrities that were illegally obtained and distributed in a major hacking scandal. Google has failed to “act expeditiously, and responsibly to remove the images” after CMDA takedown requests were filed regarding stolen images found on Blogspot and YouTube pages, Singer said in a letter. Google claims that, within hours of the request, it had removed tens of thousands of pictures. The Internet is used for many good things. Stealing people’s private photos is not one of them,” the company said in a statement. Singer claims to be speaking to more than a dozen female victims of the hacking about legal options.
