Big State Court Victory For Tesla’s Retail Model

The Massachusetts Supreme Court rejected the Massachusetts State Automobile Dealers Association’s challenge to Tesla’s direct-to-consumer sales model. The logic of the court’s decision, writes Kyle Stock in BloombergBusinessweek, was noteworthy because it undercuts the argument of dealership objections nationwide: that the purpose of the dealership model is to protect the consumer. The court didn’t see it that way.
