Apple, Google Appeal Judge’s Rejection Of Wage-Fixing Settlement

Apple, Google and other major tech firms have appealed a federal court judge’s rejection of a proposed a $324.5 million class action settlement in a case alleging their no-hiring agreements suppressed worker wages Though the proposed deal was “the highest settlement ever in an employment antitrust case,” as the group pointed out in federal court filings, it comes in significantly lower than the potential $9 billion the workers could have been awarded in a jury trial. In rejecting the proposed settlement, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said the companies should pay at least $55 million more.
