Concussion Class Actions Hit U.S. And International Soccer

A class action filed against international soccer organization FIFA, as well as U.S.-based associations for the sport, seeks rule changes to better protect players from head injuries. The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, does not seek monetary damages, asking instead for the rule changeand an alteration to FIFA’s substitution protocols that would allow players to be taken out of the game for medical evaluations.
