As Sanction For Interrupting, Jones Day Partner Must Make ‘What Not To Do’ Video

During depositions, a Jones Day partner consistently interrupted with “baseless interjections” and “obstructionist commentary,” said U.S. District Court Judge Mark Bennett. In response he issued an unusual sanction. The lawyer has been tasked with making a video explaining “the impropriety of unspecified ‘form’ objections, witness coaching, and excessive interruptions.” Interested members of the public are out of luck, though. The judge said the video may be filed under seal.
