New Web Domains Raise Risk Of Cyber-Squatting

Many new top-level domains (TLDs), including .London, .guru and .sexy, have appeared on-line, and hundreds more have been applied for. With these new names comes a big increase in attempts at “cybersquatting,” and some companies already have had to litigate. The best way to avoid litigation, writes Jan Corstens, partner in the Deloitte Belgian office, is to take advantage of the protections offered by the Trademark Clearinghouse.
