Strict Privacy And Do-Not-Track Guide From Calif. AG

California’s cutting-edge privacy policies have been clarified by a recent guidance to the Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) from the state attorney general’s office. The law was amended recently to include requirements for responding to do-not-track signals. A Reed Smith client alert by attorneys Lisa B. Kim, Paul H. Cho, Divonne Smoyer summarizes the document. In releasing these guidelines,” they write, “Attorney General Kamala Harris continues to be a highly aggressive figure in the area of online privacy.”
