Patton Boggs, Squire Sanders To Move Ahead With Merger

Troubled legal and lobbying firm Patton Boggs will merge with Squire Sanders, becoming Squire Patton Boggs, one of the largest firms in the U.S.,with about 1,600 lawyers in 45 offices world-wide. Merger talks were briefly stalled last week when one of Patton Boggs’ clients cried foul, claiming he’d been thrown under the bus in the firm’s recent settlement with Chevron over a decades-long Ecuadorian pollution case. The merger is set to take place June 1.
