Named Plaintiff Balks At Silicon Valley Hiring Settlement

A free-lance computer scientist, one of four named plaintiffs in the recently settled class action against some of Silicon Valley’s biggest tech firms, says the settlement amount was grossly inadequate and he wants the case to continue to court. Although it’s common for class members to opt out, it is highly unusual for one of the named plaintiffs to reject a settlement, notes the account in the New York Times. According to the plaintiff, who worked at defendant company Adobe from 2006 into 2008, the settlement amount was about one-tenth of the an estimated $3 billion in compensation that the class members lost because of collusion among the defendant companies.
