Can Lawyers Use Macs?

PCs have long been the standard for businesses, including the business of law, but many old obstacles to switching to Macs have disappeared, and there are some good reasons to make the move. Nowadays Macs are capable of running the software necessary to operate a law firm, thanks to cloud-based practice management and new time and billing services, writes legal technology consultant Pegeen Turner. Many lawyers are using Apple technology already in their daily lives, with iPhones and iPads, although Turner warns that running Mac OS X is not the same and will take some learning. But usingMacs typically requires less investment in IT after the initial purchase, and for that among other reasons there’s a case to be made for law firms to make the switch to Macs.
