Most law offices are still burdened with obsolete technology, according to The Lawyerist. Copiers and fax machines top the list but Blackberries and Windows XP are featured as well. “If you stopped clinging to your Blackberry for a second and tried a modern smartphone, you would see why the company is on life support,” says the author of the list. “Oh, gee, I do hate fax machines,” says one commentator, “BUT they are less trouble than certified mail, which is still, in some courts, the only other valid means of service.”
