Patton Boggs Partners Flee Amid Merger Talks With Squire Sanders

At least eight partners have decided to leave Washington, D.C., law firm Patton Boggs LLP as that firm holds ongoing merger discussions with Squire Sanders. Two litigation partners in Washington, D.C., have left the firm for Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, according to the Wall Street Journal, and at least six other partners have left the firm to launch a Dallas office of McGuireWoods LLP. Patton and Squire Sanders, a larger firm with Ohio roots, recently signed a “letter of intent” to move forward with serious merger talks.
