Actress In “Innocence Of Muslims” Case Wants Google Held in Contempt

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has not determined whether it will rehear a controversial copyright ruling issued last month that ordered Google to take down a movie on YouTube after an actress who appeared in the film sued. But the actress has now filed a motion demanding that Google be held in contempt and sanctioned. Cindy Lee Garcia claims in the motion that, despite being given 24 hours to take down copies of the infamous anti-Muslim film, copies are still available on-line. The court ruled that Garcia had a viable copyright claim on her own performance in the film, but Google sought a rehearing, saying the decision would create “chaos.”
