The widening income gap between the richest and poorest Americans should concern those who are well off, because underpaid workers lose motivation and drop off in productivity, Delos Capital COO Sanjay Sanghoee writes in Fortune. It would be “prudent” of corporate America to address dwindling wages for average workers, Sanghoee says, because an imbalanced workforce negatively impacts spending, slows the economy, and could put a halt to the primary motivation of the business sector – the American dream.
