60,000 Software Workers Target Silicon Valley In Class Action

A class action alleging that seven of the largest Silicon Valley firms, including Apple, Google and Adobe Systems, conspired to restrict employment options and drive down wages of roughly 60,000 engineers, will go forward. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals rebuffed an appeal by the companies and let stand a ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Lucy Koh, granting the plaintiffs class action status. The case alleges the companies made an agreement not to go after each other’s employees, violating the Sherman Antitrust Act and the Clayton Antitrust Act.
