New laws going into effect in 2014 suggest two major accelerating trends in workplace privacy: Legislators and enforcement agencies will continue narrowing the scope of information employers can consider in the hiring process, and employee personal life will continue its expansion into the workplace in ways that employers are largely going to be forced to tolerate.
