Jailed Gov’t Whistleblower, Former CIA Agent, Warns Snowden: Don’t Return

A former CIA agent, serving prison time for revealing the name of an undercover agent to a reporter, wrote to NSA leaker Edward Snowden to warn him against returning to the U.S., saying he would likely not receive a fair trial. John Kiriakou said the Eastern District of Virginia, where he was sentenced in 2008 for violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, was known as “the ‘espionage court’” for good reason, and the jury for Snowden would be “made up of current, former or retired CIA, NSA, FBI, military and intelligence contractors.”
