Legal Issues Could Ground Amazon Drone Deliveries

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos told 60 Minutes that the company is experimenting with self-piloting drones to make customer deliveries, and he said that system could be operational by 2015. However, the FAA has yet to consider commercial drone regulation and may not do so until 2020. In addition to certification and regulation issues, Amazon could be liable if the drones collided with things – including people or aircraft – or exploded.
