OSHA Urged To Scrutinize Temp Work

Temp workers do some of the most dangerous work in the country, much of it in construction and demolition, where there is a “burgeoning underground economy.” Temp workers are at high risk because they are likely to be less well-trained and, at least with regard to the specific hazards of a location, less experienced. A coalition of occupational health and safety groups wants OSHA Assistant Secretary Dr. David Michaels to develop a special initiative that would address the situation, and he appears to be listening.
