Cyber Attacks, Cost To Resolve Them, On The Rise

Companies and organizations are spending more money and time, more frequently, to resolve cyber-attacks, according to a study from HP and the Ponemon Institute. The 2013 Cost of Cyber Crime Study found the average annualized cost of cybercrime in U.S. organizations was $11.56 million. That’s up 78 percent from the first study done four years ago. The number of attacks has also gone up – an average of 122 successful attacks per week, versus 102 per week in 2012 – and the time it takes to resolve an attack jumped to 32 days, with an average cost of more than $1 million.
