Controversial NLRB GC Nominee On To Senate Vote

President Obama’s controversial nominee to serve as general counsel to the National Labor Relations Board was approved by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and now the vote goes to the full Senate. The nominee, Richard Griffin Jr., was previously appointed to the Board by Obama, but that appointment along with two other recess board appointments were struck down by the D.C. Circuit Court. The GC nomination may be controversial, but Griffin does not actually need approval of the Senate to serve as GC on an acting basis.
