Harvard Prof Submits Tumblr As Evidence To Supreme Court

In a campaign finance case that will go before the Supreme Court Oct. 8, Harvard professor Lawrence Lessig and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) have submitted an entire site from microblogging service Tumblr as evidence, the first time such a brief has been filed with the nation’s highest court. The gist of Lessig and Warren’s brief – filed in a case that could raise the cap on how much wealthy donors could give directly to politicians or political parties – is that the framers of the Constitution used the word “corruption” in a different, more inclusive way than we do now. The Tumblr is a collection of more than 300 examples from the framing context.
