Bank Consultants Under Fire, Conflicts Alleged

Subpoenas from the New York Department of Financial Services to Promontory Financial Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers are the latest action in what appears to be a trend. Government watchdogs are scrutinizing what some say is rampant conflict of interest in the financial institution consulting industry. “Consultants have a financial incentive to do things to attract repeat business,” said Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown.
