Securities Litigation And News For The Week Ending July 19

The trial of former Goldman Sachs employee Fabrice Toure and further developments in the case of a “securities law recidivist” in the Revelation Forex Fund matter are among the SEC actions that were in the news this week, along with a classic Ponzi scheme. Meanwhile, an FCPA restitution action was upheld on appeal, and the law firm Labaton Sucharow released a survey entitled “Wall Street in Crisis: A Perfect Storm Looming” that found 23 percent of respondents had either witnessed or knew first hand about wrong-doing in the work place, while 17 percent believed that if leaders in their organization suspected insider trading they would probably ignore it.
