$2.75 Million Whistleblower Award In Amgen Case

The biopharmaceutical company Amgen settled in a case where a marketing scheme allegedly went awry. Payment to doctors for taking a survey about cancer treatment was said to have crossed the line, becoming a kickback scheme that paid them to prescribe an Amgen cancer drug. Two whistleblowers received a total of $2.75 million out of a $15 million settlement.
